About the Project

This Defender 90 came to us with the leaks, worn parts and tired controls that every classic picks up over the years. We went through it from the engine bay to the door seals, fixed every fault we found and handed it back tight, dry and ready to drive.

Not every Defender needs a full rebuild. The Restoration Lab puts your truck right, at the level of work it needs.

Engine and Turbo

Every oil leak traced and fixed, from the oil filter and valve cover to the turbo oil line, with the turbo heat shield and its bracket repaired.

Clutch and Steering

A complete new clutch kit and master cylinder, a replacement steering box and drag bar, and a full alignment so the truck drives straight and true.

Body and Electrics

New door seals with both doors re-aligned, the missing fender brackets replaced, and the switches and heater wiring brought back to full working order.

The Work

Engine and Turbo

  • Oil filter

    Repaired the leak at the oil filter.

  • Valve cover

    New valve cover gasket and hose.

  • Turbo oil line

    Repaired the turbo oil leak.

  • Turbo heat shield

    Repaired the heat shield and its bracket.

Clutch, Steering and Axles

  • Clutch

    Replaced the entire clutch kit.

  • Clutch master cylinder

    Replaced.

  • Steering box

    Replaced the steering box and set the alignment.

  • Steering drag bar

    Replaced.

  • Axle

    Repaired a leak at the axle side cap.

Body and Electrics

  • Doors

    New left and right door seals, with both doors re-aligned.

  • Fender brackets

    Replaced the missing upper and lower brackets on the right side.

  • Heater wiring

    Repaired the wiring harness connector for the heater.

  • Lights and switches

    Repaired and replaced the turn signal, headlight and wiper switches.
